When you think of Sicilian wine, it’s difficult look past Nero d’Avola as the absolute epitome. Whilst it’s named after the town of Avola in the South of the island, Nero d’Avola is the most widely planted grape across the whole of Sicily; dark, brooding and juicy – it’s a serious grape which makes serious wine.
